James R. Christ
May 30,1939 ~ September 8, 2019, age 80.
Hilton - James is survived by his wife, Johanna; his children, James (Colleen) Christ Jr., Michael Christ, Robert (Christine) Christ and Sherry (Robert) Farrell; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Scott, Kara, Joshua, Nicole, Tyler, Jonathan, Morgan, Rachel and Ryan; his great-grandchildren, Jack and Jordon; his brother, Thomas Christ; his dear friends, Edie Christ and Barb Christ; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
James was in the US Army from 1958-1963 and met Johanna while he was stationed in France. They were married in 1960. Both James Jr and Michael were born in France before they came to the US to live to continue raising their family and adding Robert and Sherry before settling in Hilton.
James also owned and operated Christ Paving Corporation for a majority of his life and had his 3 sons working for him for many years.
James and Johanna then discovered their connection to Marco Island, FL 38 years ago and came to love going there every winter so much that they purchased a home there in 1999.
Friends may call Wednesday, September 11th from 4 - 7 PM at THOMAS E. BURGER FUNERAL HOME in Hilton, where his Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 12th at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place in Parma Union Cemetery.
The family would like to thank Lifetime Care Hospice especially Joelle and Paige, along with Lucy from Unity Health for their compassionate care.
