Condolences
Sherry, Mark, Ashley and Abby, as you know, Frances was very important in our large family. She was a huge help to my mother with the younger children. By the time I came along, 17 years later, Frances had left home, but she has made a large impact on my life too.
Some of the fondest memories I have of her are times when she did special things for us, such as creating a card game (I must have been around the age of 9 or 10), in which we learned about other countries and other countries leaders. Sharon, John, and I used to spend hours playing this game.
When I was age 13, I spent some time in Kingsport with Frances one summer and she taught me how to use a pattern to cut out dresses and how to use her electric sewing machine. I had already learned how to use a treadle sewing machine. Later in life, when I had four little ones to raise, Frances always remembered to send birthday cards to the children. That meant a lot to me, as well as to them.
Frances started a small fund, many years ago, to whichever younger sibling was in college, because we all attended college on a penny and a promise. Her only request was that it be paid forward. I am sure we all did that.
I loved hearing her talk about her school children, and how much they were learning. My sister Frances will always have my utmost respect and thank you for honoring her memory.

Sherry, Mark, Ashley, Abbey, and Joe, we are so sad at the loss of Frances, and are keeping you in our thoughts as you go thru these difficult days. With a heavy heart, we began looking at the photos of Frances’s life, but page after page of wonderful memories made it clear that she had a rich and happy life. She’s just beautiful in every photo! Lots of love, Kathy and Tim
