Obituary of David J. Tresohlavy
A lifetime dedicated to service of his community. David J Tresohlavy of Hilton, NY, passed away peacefully of natural causes at home surrounded by family on March 28th, 2020. He was predeceased by grandson Joshua, and parents Albert and Verna. David is survived by his wife Constance, children Daniel (Sabrina), Elizabeth, and Timothy (Jessica), and grandchildren Madison, Brennan, Evan, and Emma, as well as brothers Thomas (Kim), and Ronald (Debra).
Dave worked as an educator (mathematics) in Kendall Central Schools, retiring in 2002. He was deeply involved with the Knights of Columbus – St. Leo Council 9461 for decades. Dave was generous with his time, a devoted volunteer of the Red Kettle Society of the Salvation Army, member of the Hilton Lions Club, and Sons of the American Legion (Spencerport). In retirement, Dave also served the Village of Hilton administration, earning Citizen of the Year in 2012. His spirit and enthusiasm for community service will be greatly missed.
An avid runner, Dave was a member of the Illion High School and Brockport State (class of 1968) track & field teams. He competed in local and regional distance running events into his mid-40’s, including six marathons (Boston, Rochester, Buffalo, and Lake Ontario) with a personal best time of 2:39.
A Celebration of David's Life will be held at St. Leo the Great Church in Hilton at 11 AM on Saturday, August 28, 2021. Interment will take place in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
