Obituary of James R. Kibby
Hilton: James R. Kibby, 72, passed away on April 6, 2020, after a difficult struggle with Parkinson's Disease. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Linda; his children, Patrick Kibby, Matthew (Carrie) Kibby and Sara (Jeff Rowe) Eden; his sister, Judith (Steve) Lowe; his sister-in-law, Patti Kibby; Linda's sister, Nancy (Robert) Dunbar; Linda's brother, Mark (Connie) Miller; his grandchildren, Jared, Jordan, and Aiden Kibby, Logan and Raelle Kibby, Meredith Eden, and Dominic Rowe; and several nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, John V. and Doris A. Kibby; his brother, William Kibby; and his brother-in-law, Richard Miller.
Jim was born in Buffalo, NY on February 14, 1948. He attended Kenmore schools, and later, Alfred State College, where he and Linda met. He was a proud Vietnam Veteran, who served in the Army; and was a retiree of Eastman Kodak. He went on to become a realtor with Nothnagle (now Howard Hanna), where he was known as "Mr. Reliable"; and he was! He was a dedicated member of the American Legion, the Honor Guard, and the Hilton Fire Department. Jim was a kind and loving man with a quick wit, always ready with a joke or a pun. He was an avid sports fan who never gave up on the Buffalo Bills. He loved the Yankees and Syracuse football and basketball. In the last several years, he was happy to travel to Branson, MO, to reunite with his Army recon buddies from his unit in Vietnam. He also looked forward to getting together with the "Kodak breakfast group". Jim will be sadly missed by family and friends.
