Obituary of Theodore Phillip Glaser
Hilton - Theodore "Ted" P. Glaser passed away on Sunday, April 11, 2020 at the age of 86. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Joyce [McQuarrie] Glaser; his daughters, Barbara Oden and Cynthia Glaser; his grandson, Michael Oden; his sister, Carol Wetzel; his sister-in-law, Jean (William) O'Dell; and nieces and nephews.
Ted was a 10 year veteran of the US Navy and Naval Reserve; serving on the USS Clarence K Bronson, later joining the 'Tin Can Sailors' - the National Association of Destroyer Veterans. The navy was a pretty big deal to him. Two of his proud moments were special trips he took; the first was for their 50th Anniversary, when Joyce and Ted took a once-in-a-lifetime trip which included a visit to Pearl Harbor, and the second was a NY Assembly Patriot Trip, which toured all the monuments and memorials honoring our veterans. Teddy retired from Upstate Farms Cooperative after 43 years, having seen the name change 4 times during that period, from Brighton Place Dairy, Sealtest, Upstate Farms and Upstate Niagara Cooperative, all out of the same building. Ted enjoyed anything historical, local, national, and military history. He was loved by animals big and small, especially the squirrels. He was an avid tinkerer and enjoyed working in the yard or in his workshop, always finding things to keep him busy and things that needed improving. Quick with a joke, he made friends easily and could find something in common with everyone he met.
Due to the current Coronavirus crisis, a Private Graveside Service will be held in Riverside Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Donations can be made to the Hope Lutheran Church Food Pantry, 1301 Vintage Lane, Rochester, NY 14626 in memory of Ted.
