Obituary of Wilbert L. Burns

Wilbert L. Burns passed away on August 12, 2020, at the age of 100. He was predeceased by his wife, Evie (Boulter) Burns in 2008. He is survived by his children, William (Barbara) Burns and Sheila (Norbert) Smalling; his grandchildren, Jason (Beth) Smalling, Janelle (Mike McGrath) Smalling, and Kelly (Justin) O’Brien; his great-grandchildren, Audrey, Brean, Caiden, Ava & Sam; his sister in law, Jeanette Schiffhauer; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Wilbert worked as general maintenance supervisor for Rochester Gas and Electric. He loved camping, starting out with a small tow behind camper and eventually progressing to a motorhome. He was a Fire Chief for Braddocks Heights.  The New York Yankees was his favorite baseball team. He will be fondly remembered as a “very hard worker."

Wilbert’s casual (summer attire) Memorial Service will be on Sunday, August 16th at 2:00 pm, at Braddock Bay Park, Pavilion 1. Please bring a lawn chair. Interment will be Private at Parma Union Cemetery.
