Obituary of Robert G. Peown

Hilton - Robert "Rob" G. Peown passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at the age of 64. He is survived by his wife, Michele "Shell" [Remillard] Peown; his children, Matt (Katie) Peown and Brittany (Dave) Messina; his brother, Steve (Yola) Peown; his sisters, Sue (Jim) Kettell and Kris (Brett) Lerner; his grandchildren, Penelope & Addilyn Messina and Robbie Peown; and several nieces and nephews.

Rob proudly worked in the Wegmans sign shop for 29 years. Wegmans appreciated Rob’s artistic talents and on occasion was given special projects. He was a gifted artist, and some of his unique creations are permanently displayed at Artisan Works. You can see the beautiful detail of his work in his clocks and furniture which he sold locally. His greatest creations are found in his charming home and throughout his gardens by the lake.

Rob loved good music, good wine, and good food. Most of all Pontillo’s “cup and char” well done pizza and Sal’s Birdland.

Rob was a great friend to many people.  He always had a listening ear and a word of advice. Rob was most proud of his family and the love he shared with his wife for 43 years. He was the best father to his two children who he was very close with, and he adored making memories with his grandchildren.  We can’t forget to mention the special bond he shared with his dog, Otis.

Rob and his family are humbled by the outpouring of love and support they’ve received during this very difficult journey. Especially the exceptional care he received by his doctors and nurses at The Medical ICU at Strong Memorial Hospital.
