Obituary of Salvatore M. Balbi

Hamlin - Salvatore M. Balbi "Sal" passed away on February 26, 2021, at the age of 41, greeted in Heaven by his little brother, Nicky. He is survived by his wife, Erica; his children, Gavvin Clark, Makel Harris, Salvatore Balbi, and Julianna Balbi; his parents, Salvatore & Janet Balbi; his brother, Alexander Balbi; his nieces, Samantha & Savanna Balbi; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many dear friends, especially those in his "closest circle" his second family.

Sal was a very selfless person. He donated his bone marrow for his brother Nicky.  He touched many lives with his ability to love and help anyone. Even through his illness he constantly helped people.  He had a great sense of humor. Sal was a graduate of Brockport High School.  He enjoyed cooking, coached youth soccer and watching hockey, especially the Pittsburg Penguins. He was blessed to have a circle of life-long friends who enjoyed their "horrible movies", "Netflix always" and "moving and doing".  Sal will be remembered as, "The candle that burns twice as bright, burns half as long". He will be greatly missed.    

Family and friends are invited to call, following CDC guidelines, on Tuesday, March 2nd 4-7 pm at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, 735 East Avenue, Hilton, where his Funeral Service will be on Wednesday, March 3rd at 11 am.  Interment in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
