Obituary of Donald A. Colburn
Hilton - Donald "Al" Colburn passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Monday, September 26, 2022 at the age of 76, from complications of diabetes. He is survived by his wife, Janet; his sons, Dennis Colburn, Paul (Beth) Colburn, and Jeffrey (Oanh) Colburn; his grandchildren, James, Cara, Isaac, William and Jane; his siblings, Sylvia (Bill) Kennedy, Mark (Lynn) Colburn, Sheila (Mike) Personale, and Joe (Marcia) Colburn; his brother-in-law, Jerry (Carolyn) Barnhart; his sister-in-law, Joyce Leimberger; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss his love, devotion to family, sense of humor, and quick wit.
Al grew up in Manchester, NY excelling at many sports and developing a passion for reading. He was a Veteran and proudly served in the Army Signal Corps. He graduated from Brockport College and became a teacher, who made science fun for thousands of students at the Merton Williams Middle School in Hilton, where he taught for 30 years. "Science Rules!" In retirement, he enjoyed wood working, model trains, travel and spending time with family. He will be deeply missed by all.

Family and friends are invited to attend Al's Memorial Service on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Hilton Baptist Church, 50 Lake Avenue, Hilton, NY 14468. A Celebration of Al's life will immediately follow the service in the Lloyd Room.
