Condolences
Karen’s laugh is what I’ll remember most about her. Her laugh was lighthearted and spirited. Maybe a bit raucous. It was spontaneous and ubiquitous. It was part of her sentences. She laughed at humor and seriousness, and at good news and bad. She used laughter as an expression of joy and unhappiness, and agreement and cynicism. Karen always was laughing. Everyone on the golf course knew where she was by listening to her laughter.
Karen also was very bright. I believe she earned straight A’s and often had the highest test score in the class, and always made the Dean’s List while earning her accounting degree from (I think) The University of Rochester.
Karen had a tough side too. You knew when she was displeased with something. And she made some tough decisions in her life.
Karen loved good times. After the weekly golf league play she was always one of the last people to leave the clubhouse. Her ‘Party with the Ponies’ at Batavia Downs and her annual euchre party at her house were large fun events. Her only rule was, ‘play nice’.
Karen, you and your laugh will be remembered and missed.
Karen was so giving to Greece Athena's class of 1978. I always appreciated all of the work she did as well as others who kept our reunions going. I always enjoyed our conversations and know she will be so dearly missed. My sincerest condolences to her family...
