Obituary of Eugene H. Auer Jr.

Churchville - Eugene H. Auer Jr., "Gene" aka “Bud” aka “Whoop”, passed away on October 26, 2023 at the age of 78. He is survived by his wife, Joan; his children, Christopher Auer and Eric (Sandy) Auer; his brothers, Dan Auer, Harry (Holly) Auer, and Henry Auer; his grandchildren, Benjamin, Joseph, and Thomas Auer; and his nieces and nephews.

Gene was a retired electrician who worked at AC Delco for many years and also worked at Genesee Brewery and did much of the original wiring for the Genesee Country Village. He was a very giving person who volunteered as a fireman, a teacher at WEMOCO, a Boy Scouts leader, and other worthy causes. He enjoyed spending winters in Florida, trailer camping with his family, restoring antique cars, riding his motorcycles, collecting coins, tinkering with things, repairing small engines and clocks, and genealogy. He was a baseball fan and an avid bowler for many years. He was a proud and devoted father who loved his family and will be missed dearly.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, November 3, 2023 from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, 735 East Avenue, Hilton. Gene's graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Lakeside Cemetery.
