Obituary of William R. Benedict

Hilton - William R. "Bill" Benedict Sr., "Chief" passed away on June 28, 2024 at the age of 93. He was predeceased by his wife, Lorraine. He is survived by his children, Kathleen B. Previte, William (Cheryl) Benedict Jr., and Robert (Dawn) Benedict; and his grandchildren, Brandon Previte, Charles Previte, Bryan Benedict, Michael Benedict, Samantha Benedict, and Jack Benedict.

Bill was a Veteran of the United States Army and served during the Korean War. He was a career Firefighter and worked for the Rochester City Fire Department and retired as Battalion Chief. He loved the game of golf and sometimes golf loved him back. He loved spending time with his many friends and family. He will be deeply missed.

Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, July 2, 2024 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, 735 East Avenue, Hilton.  Bill's Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at 9:30 am at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 110 Old Hojack Lane, Hilton, NY 14468. Interment with Military Honors in Parma Union Cemetery.  

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New York State Veteran's Home, 220 Richmond Avenue, Batavia, NY 14020-1227 in Bill's memory.
