Obituary of Gene R. Krist

Hilton - Gene R. Krist passed away on September 10, 2020, at the age of 85. He was predeceased by his wife Linda in 2017. He is survived by his children, Timothy (Donna) Krist, Daniel Krist (Todd Schirmer), Amy Krist (Alex Buerkle) and Bonnie (Victor) Scaccia; his grandchildren, Daniel Schirmer, Benjamin & Brandon Krist, Sabrina Scaccia & Iris Buerkle; his great-grandchildren, Rosalee & Sebastian; his siblings, Richard (Marilee) Krist, James Krist, Thomas (Kathy) Krist, Peggy Pask & Rosemary (Richard) Barnhart; his brothers-in-law, James (Joyce) Urkew & Gerald Urkew; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Gene was a long time, faithful parishioner of St. Leo's Church in Hilton and an active member of the Knights of Columbus, carrying out many charitable works in the community. He delivered Meals on Wheels to those in need for over 25 years. He was an avid participant in the MS Walk fundraiser, and he was a loving and dedicated caregiver for his beloved wife, Linda. He will be greatly missed.

A Memorial Mass at St. Leo the Great Church in Hilton will be held 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 (Gene's birthday).

Private Interment will be in Mt. Albion Cemetery.
