Condolences
I know it has been some time. I can only hope this finds the Clifford family well, at peace and comforted knowing that Jay was loved he is with God and the memories of him will not be forgotten. I worked along side Jay for many years, starting early with the electrical apprentiship and then with Vanderlinde Electric and then O'Connell. We shared some wonderful experiences and worked up through the ranks together. Jay was an supremely skilled electrician / mechanic and so much more. He was a great leader and teacher. His demeanor, attitude and knowledge of the business made him a valuable and highly regarded representative of the IBEW with members and customers alike. You as i am, should be very proud of his accomplishments and the legacy he has left behind. I did on many occasions get to spend some time socially outside of work with him throw back a few beers, have some laughs, talk lacrosse, work and family, I have 2 sons similar in age. i have also met you Maggie, on a couple occasions. His charisma and love of friends, family and life were always evident. I have been blessed to know Jay. I will forever cherish those memories. God Bless.
Maggie and family, so sorry to hear of your loss. I attended SUNY Cobleskill with Jay in 1979-81 and considered him a close friend, as many probably did. Jay had that effect on people, with his friendly nature, genuine smile, great sense of humor and eagerness to help others. Although we grew apart after college, I’ve thought fondly of Jay often over the years - evenings playing basketball or working-out at Bouck Gym, weekend hikes in the state forests of Schoharie County, or listening to Marshall Tucker while studying for some exam. One Friday we grabbed our packs and thumbed our way from Cobleskill to OPTL Road where I found his family to be just as warm and friendly as Jay. Another weekend we spent in Newfield deer hunting with my extended family ... Jay was one of the nicest and most selfless people I’ve known. My sincerest condolences. Kyle Williams and Family, Cobleskill, NY.
Margie and family I am so sorry for your loss. By the comments your children were blessed with a great dad. That is a great memory, but still causes great pain. Sorry to all and my prayers for all. Amy Mundweiler

I went to St. John's with Jay and although we grew apart over the years I am very saddened by this loss. I'll cherish many fond memories of Jay and spending time at the Clifford house on OPTL Rd! I am truly sorry for your loss.
I am so sorry to hear of Jays passing. I have been playing lacrosse with Jay and Jay jr for many years, The one thing I was always amazed with is the bond between father and son. There was a sort of magic when Jay was playing with his son. Jay would do anything for us. I even remember times when he would step in and play goalie /. However that was Jay ,always present always willing to do what ever it took.
One of the traits that Jay had was always had time to talk to me. Always asked me not only how I was doing but how were my sons. We would share the stories of our Kids and how we alway worried about them growing up. He not only talked but was a good listener. I will miss him. I only pray that over time your grief becomes manageble,. I will pray for your healing.
Frank
I'm so sorry for the loss of Jay. I met him playing lacrosse with the Cobras. He had the most fantastic demeanor and perspective. We both loved playing along side our kids.
My prayers are with the family.

Jay was a classmate of mine at Cardinal Mooney, class of 1979. He was always a quiet gentle young man. . My memory of him was In football practices, he was always first place in any of our long distance running drills and made it look easy. I always admired him for that. My condolences to the Family, much too young.
You can tell a good man usually the first time you meet him. Jay was a good man.
Only knowing Jay through lacrosse as a teammate and opponent his continuous smile and competitive spirit was infectious.
Our condolences go out to Maggie, Young Jay, the rest of his family, friends, lacrosse community of friends that are feeling this great loss.
