Obituary of James E. Skidmore

Hilton - James E. Skidmore passed away on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at the age of 73. He was predeceased by his wife, Cheryl (2018); his son, Shaun Skidmore; his sister, Florence Glanton; and his Father-in-law, Jack Sheffield. He is survived by his children, Katrina (Dave) Swan and Jeremy Skidmore; his brothers, Lawrence Skidmore and William Skidmore; his sister, Donna Spencer; his grandchildren, Tyler & Timothy (Marissa) Swan and Hayley Skidmore; his great granddaughter, Violet; his Mother-in-law, Lois Sheffield; and several nieces and nephews.

James was a Letter Carrier for the US Post Office for 35 years. He was a Veteran of the US Navy.  He owned a Christmas Tree farm for many years called Sheffield Christmas Trees. In his leisure, Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle and listening to blues, rock and country music. He would help anyone and do anything for his family.

Friends and family are invited to call on Saturday, April 23rd from 2-4 pm at the Thomas E. Burger Funeral Home, Inc., 735 East Avenue in Hilton where his Memorial Service will take place at 4 pm. Interment will take place in Lakeside Cemetery in Hamlin at a later date.
