Obituary of Virginia Rae Michael

It is with great sadness that the family of Virginia Rae "Ginny" Michael announces her passing. She died peacefully in her sleep on August 11, 2023. She was born to her beloved late parents, Frank and Jessie Weihonig in Rochester, New York.

Ginny graduated from Hilton High School and received her degree from Brockport College. She worked at Kodak, retiring in the early 1990's. She grew up at Braddock's Bay and became a lifelong Hilton resident. It is at the "hotel" where her passion for waitressing grew. That started her "part-time career." She went on to work at many local restaurants, and she enjoyed traveling with her family and friends. Ginny was a strong, hard-working mom, who raised two sons on her own. She was loving and nurturing to everyone she met.

She is survived by her sons, Matt (Debbie) Barclay, Dan (Jill Payne) Michael; grandson, Matthew (Kelli) Barclay; great-granddaughter, Rilynn Barclay; sister-in-law, Carol Redmond; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. She was predeceased by her first husband, Howie Barclay.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Journey Home for providing loving and compassionate care of our mother.

There will be a Celebration of Ginny's Life at a later date.
