Condolences
The Veterans Outreach extends our deepest sympathy in William's passing.
We acknowledge and are truly grateful for his service to our country.
Roger and I were so sorry to hear of Bill's passing. Bill was a joy to be around and a blessing to everyone who knew him. May you find comfort and strength in the memories you shared.
Our prayers are with the Howie family.
My deepest sympathy to the family of William Howie Jr. I knew Bill from being in the Crusaders. A great guy talk to and laugh with.
Bill was a great guy. I remember a trip from Shantou to Xiamen with Bill and other guys.
We were in a van and the road was rough. Bill was sitting in the back dozing.
There was a guy from utilities riding in front and a Chinese driver. The guy was suppose to signal us for bumps.
So imagine going about 45 mph and the road disappears because it was not finished. Well, Howie in a dead sleep and our front seat rider not paying attention, you can picture Howie bouncing up and whacking his head on the ceiling.
Bill proceeded to tell our front seat guy with a lot of expletives if this happens again he would kick his butt!
All of us were laughing, except Bill.
Another China experience with Bill.
He was working on delivery systems in a confined space. The night before he had some beer and Chinese food.
Bill disappeared for hours. Well, he had to go the bathroom. He said he would never use a Chinese toilet. Well, he had to use the 3 point stand for a couple of hours.
Again we all laughed!
Bill was a lot of fun and will be sorely missed. GOD BLESS!
Jack
I was so sorry to hear of Bill's passing. I only got to know Bill over the last 8 years or so when he joined our group of fellow golfers. I always enjoyed being paired with him because of his easy going, friendly nature. We had a lot of laughs together and at each others expense. It was great that he was able to join us a couple of times this past season thanks to his good friend Jim Hearn.
Our Thoughts and Condolences to the entire Howie family.
Meredith, Steve, Mary, and Diane,
So sorry to hear about Bill's passing. Although first cousins, we never lived close, nor had a lot of time to spend together. But I really appreciate the time that we did spend together. Bill was always a joy to be with: funny, and always had lots of stories to share. The few times we stayed on Hillside Ave growing up, and the few Howie Reunions where we share time together are memories I will never forget. I just hope that you all can have comfort at this time by remembering all the good times that you did share with him. Our thoughts are with you.
Jack and Nancy Howie
Bill was a great guy, got to know him in the last two years playing golf with out group. He was funny friendly, good company. I will miss him next year.
Steve,Mary, Meredith, Diane,
I am so sorry to hear of Bill’s passing,
A cousin is a special friend from the Howie family tree,
Someone to grow with, to always be with me,
To share life’s experiences with a cousin like Bill is
truly a joy to have, like a brother I never knew!
I know now he is in a better place, no suffering or pain,
Until we meet again Bill,
May God bless you in your time of sorrow!
