Obituary of Nancy M. Houghtling

Hilton - Nancy Houghtling passed away on February 15, 2024 at the age of 84.  She was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Audrey Perrin.  She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Gary; her children, Helene (Andy) Thompson-Scott, Robert (Michele) Thompson, and John (Sandy) Houghtling; her grandchildren, Isaac (Krystal), Aaron (Nicolette), Brittany (Branden), Shawna (Brian), Mikaela, and Zoe; her great-grandchildren, Luna, Merida, Finley, and Brayden.

Nancy was retired from her job as a Sociotherapist for the Crestwood Children's Center in Rochester. She was a devout Catholic. She loved to travel and visited Kenya, Europe, Russia, China, Madagascar, and South America, where she also did volunteer work. She collected tea pots and enjoyed a good cup of tea with her friends. She welcomed having a cat in her lap at any time. She will be deeply missed.

The family is thankful for the kind, consistent and compassionate nursing care given to Nancy over the past 3 years by Tannie, Bernice, and Mattie.

Family and friends are invited to attend Nancy's Graveside Service, followed by a luncheon at Fosters in Hilton, on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at 11:00 am at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 2461 Lake Avenue Rochester, New York 14612. A Funeral Celebration Mass will be held for her in the future at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Church. Check back for an update with date and time.
