Obituary of Patricia Gail Eichinger

Rochester, NY: Patricia Gail Coleman Eichinger - Pat, 81, passed away on Tuesday, October 30th at Monroe Community Hospital. Pat was the daughter of the late Thomas Coleman and Sadye Christopher. A 1955 graduate of Nazareth Academy and 1959 graduate of SUNY Cortland, Pat taught Physical Education in Greece, NY schools before focusing entirely on raising a family. She married James Eichinger (Sr.) in 1966, and lived in Hilton, NY until 1992, when she and Jim moved to Asheville, NC following his retirement from Eastman Kodak Co. Pat returned to the Rochester area in 2014 following Jim’s death.

Pat was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, James Eichinger Sr. Survivors include her daughter, Laurel Beth Eichinger Webster (Tom) of Tacoma, WA; son, James Eichinger, Jr. (Katy) of Rochester, NY; and four granddaughters, Abigail and Rebecca Webster, and Emily and Sara Eichinger.

Pat enjoyed golfing at Deerfield Country Club in Brockport, NY and Glen Cannon Country Club in Brevard, NC where she and her husband had memberships. Pat and Jim were Buffalo Bills season ticket holders for 20 years. Her love of the Bills intersected with her skill for knitting, and she created several "unique" pieces of Bills apparel for loved ones over the years, among other things. She had a green thumb, a talent for painting, was a skilled calligrapher, and had a keen mind that she loved to apply to logic puzzles. Pat’s true lifelong passion was for reading and sharing the gift of literature. She was a dedicated library patron in both Hilton and Asheville, and passed on her love of reading to her children and grandchildren.
