Obituary of William. F. Thompson

Walworth: May 29, 2016. William Thompson, age 62, in Phoenix, Arizona. He is survived by his wife, Lou Anne Justice Thompson; his daughter, Karen Patricia Durling; his step-son, Thomas (Denise) Decker; his step-daughter, Karen (Chris) Buss; his grandchildren, Taylor Van Der Merwe, Isaac, Ethan & Zachary Decker, “Baby� Buss (soon to be); his sister, Helen Menga; many nieces and nephews including Shawn Rhinewald; and several aunts, uncles and cousins in England. There will be no prior calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service Saturday, June 4th at 11:00 a.m. at Glad Tidings Church, 1980 Culver Road in Rochester. A Luncheon will follow at the Church. Private Interment will be held in White Haven Memorial Park in Perinton. Arrangements entrusted to Thomas E. These monies will help Jim and Terry Miller, some very dear missionary friends of ours, build a church in South Africa. Box 745 Hilton, NY 14468 ATTN: Lou Anne Thompson Some of you know that Bill and Lou Anne have a fund out of which they have helped different people in need (medical equipment, transportation, housing, etc.). Their fund began years ago when Bill started picking up and collecting pennies he found on the ground. As they saw these pennies adding up to dollars in the special bank on their kitchen counter, they looked for other ways to add to “the fund.� Bill collected bottles out of the waste bins at work; Lou Anne cut his hair and they paid the fund. They picked up donations year-round for their biggest fund raiser, the annual Gananda Garage Sale. They also shared with their small church and people responded… they were given checks, quiet money, and even piggy banks – it all added up! Through the years, because of this fund, they have been able to help many in the name of the Lord. A lawyer advised them to personally maintain the fund rather than establish a 501(c) charitable organization; consequently, these donations are NOT tax deductible. On behalf of Bill, however, Lou Anne will continue to accept donations and carry out the work of this personal mission fund. Thank you!
